About the Design:
The House of Seven Gables is a Salem landmark rich in literary history and proof that there is so much more to Salem, Massachusetts than the Witch Trials for which we are infamous. Our original hand-drawn line design reflects the house as it was in the early 1900s, is full of detail, yet simple and classic. Printed in our studio using more sustainable water-based "soft" ink on a coastal blue garment given it's waterfront setting.
Built in 1668 along Salem Harbor, the historic House of Seven Gables and its surrounding waterfront property is a designated National Historic Landmark District. The house itself is most known as the setting of renowned American author, Nathaniel Hawthorn's novel, The House of Seven Gables, and today is a living history museum where visitors are led through Salem's rich history and literary tradition.
