About the Design
Salem isn't the great city it is because of the infamous Witch Trials of 1692. Salem was a maritime trading powerhouse, the first port in the country to trade with Asia in the seventeen and eighteen hundreds. This trade resulted in the gorgeous architecture, captain mansions, a world-class museum, a walkable downtown and more. This rich history of the maritime trades is captured in our original design of the Friendship, a replica tall ship anchored here in Salem Harbor.
